I don't know about y'all, but I find myself constantly taking something for granted. I'm frustrated with how truly ungrateful I can be...God has done so, so much for me...and what do I give Him in return?
Anyways, back to what prompted this post. I had an absolutely amazing ride last week. It had been a week or two since I had ridden, and then I had a lesson on Elvis and played polocrosse on Peppy. Finally, the next week, I had a chance to ride both of my wonderful equines. I tacked up Chance and headed out to the ring, anticipating an energetic, somewhat distracted ride. So...I get on, and begin my warmup...as we pick up the trot, I direct him onto a circle with the intentions of making him think about his feet and regulate the tempo...and then I am completely blown away. His trot is huge. It's so powerful. So much impulsion. So much...fun. Especially when that energy is concentrating on doing what I ask him to do. Chance is the perfect horse for me :) Now, I'm not saying he's perfect. Neither of us are. And that's what I love. Working together to achieve our {my?} goals has been and continues to be a fantastic journey.

Okay...so now that I have been sidetracked...back to my original point. "Counting my blessings," so to speak, always brightens my outlook on life. Here's a list I made the other day...
"I'm thankful for...
Jesus. The Bible. An ear for music. Piano. Guitar. Friends. Good friends. Best friends. Singing. Boots. Chance. Diamond. Prince. Callie. Books. Love. Blankets. Pillows. Inside jokes. Horses. 4-H. Solving the world's problems...well...at least discussing them. Siblings. Mom. Dad. Our farm. This amazing papason chair. Studying anatomy. Sleep. Chapstick. Pocketknives. Southern Regionals. Nationals. Congress. Equus Caballus. Opportunities. Strength...and lack of. Christmas. Snowflakes. Snow creme. Snowballs...just not in the face. Cousins. Dark chocolate. Hot chocolate. Dark hot chocolate. Coats. Scarves. Gloves. Contacts. Freedom. Ice cubes. Pitter-patter randrops."
In reading over this again and typing it up....I am so amused and intrigued by my thought process. Some connections make sense. Others...not so much. :)
